New Announcement from the Committee - 14th July 2021

Dear Members,

Your health and safety is our top priority and we are doing everything we can to stop the spread of Covid by enforcing the Government and ECB guidelines, which were sent out to you again recently. However, following a number of positive cases we have decided to shutdown the club for a week.

All matches will go ahead as planned, however the changing rooms, showers and clubhouse will be closed so you are advised to come dressed ready to play. You will be able to access the toilets in the clubhouse but you must sanitise as you enter and leave and it is strictly one in one out. Please remember to keep your distance and continue to follow the guidelines during play.

All training is however cancelled between Wednesday 14th and Tuesday 20th July. The bar will also be closed during this time. When training does resume next week we are re-instating the maximum of 6 per lane in the nets. Remember no sharing of balls or equipment, no saliva on balls, etc.

Please remember if you or anyone in your household has any symptoms, please do NOT come to the club. If you have a positive test, please can you contact your captain/coach or a committee member to let them know.

We hope that by being extra careful and keeping contact to a minimum we can prevent more of our players and members from getting Covid and we encourage everyone to play their part.

RIP Pat Needham.

It is with great sadness that we report the recent death of Mrs Pat Needham - wife of Mr David Needham (deceased) a former chairman of the club

David was a first team Captain and played at Anston for many years. Pat was a great supporter of the Club during all those years, helping to raise much needed funds and doing teas for many matches. - (15/11/21)

The funeral will be held at Babworth Crematorium, Retford, on Tuesday 30th November. - 3pm The wake after will be held at Anston Cricket Club.

ACC Charity Day update.

It was a great pleasure today to welcome friends from our local charity SENSE. Based in Rotherham they specialise in care for people with learning disabilities. Today with everyone’s help our Club raised over £800 towards a new Sensory Garden.

We also welcomed many guests for afternoon tea including The Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham. Led and organised by Shelley Baxter our volunteers treated members and visitors to a fantastic BBQ, and afternoon tea. We had bottle stalls, raffles and games, and the bar open all afternoon and evening.

We were entertained to excellent Softball cricket in the morning by the Anston Arrows, our newly established Women’s softball squad.

In the afternoon it was the turn of the Old Boys XI-v- an Anston Select XI to entertain us.
I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as Martin and I did, and a huge Thankyou to Shelley and all the volunteers for a fantastic day.
