Well what a fantastic day despite the poor weather. The Arrows played softball through the rain in the morning. Result a Draw - a great game.
The Old Boys won in the afternoon and it was a very, very close and enjoyable match.
Well done to all the players!
The bar was busy all day and the catering was top notch and up to it’s usual high standards. The afternoon teas were also a great success. Unfortunately, the lovely stalls were rained off, but the BBQ was kept going, despite the best efforts of the rain.
The raffle was a great success, with the bat raffle won by Clare Walshaw. Congratulations!!
Ann Gyte, Chair of Governors of The Willows School, enjoyed her day with us, as did our new MP Jake Richards.
A huge thank you to our big army of volunteers, who helped throughout the day. Also, a big thank you to the players, umpires, scorers, bar staff, ground staff, and the whole team, who did an amazing job behind the scenes to make the day a great success.
The amount raised will be in excess of £1000, and will be announced on the 9th of November at the big cheque presentation night.
Thank you everyone!
